Liane-Louise Smith# International Publishing Professional
# Experienced Executive Coach # MPhil Linguistics (Cantab) # Fluent English, French, & Spanish # Member of the Association for Coaching With over 25 years experience in the creative industries, most recently heading up the international rights department of a top London literary agency, I know the power and importance of stories. I’ve been responsible for sharing some of the biggest named authors’ books around the world, liaising with global publishing houses to get their work translated into multiple languages and reach as many readers as possible.
But stories aren't just important in a creative setting. They are a fundamental part of being human, and permeate every aspect of our lives. Everyone has a story. Listening to them, understanding them and helping people to shape them is what drives my work as a professional coach. Who we are or who we identify as being, and the stories we tell about ourselves and others, are inextricably linked. I’m particularly focused on exploring identity change as a catalyst for growth; helping my clients discover the parts of their story that are limiting them or holding them back. My aim is to help them consider what they need to let go of, and what they need to invite in or reimagine, to affect positive change in their lives. My style of coaching is conversational and creative, and I approach all my sessions with compassion, empathy, curiosity, patience, and fun. I very much see my coaching as a collaboration where my role is to question, constructively challenge, and open up a space that allows my clients to think things through themselves, approach the problem or situation from a different angle, and find the solution or way forward that is best for them.
